This is an extremely large bandsaw which is normally used for cutting metal stock or sheets.

This machine is a Powermatic Model 87.

This is a large bandsaw specifically used for cutting wood. It should not be used to cut materials other than wood, as they will very quickly wear out the blade. Small wood cuts should be made on Bandsaw #4, also located in the Wood Shop.

This is a small bandsaw specifically used for cutting wood. It should not be used to cut materials other than wood, as they will very quickly wear out the blade. Larger wood cuts should be made on Bandsaw #3, also located in the Wood Shop. This is a small saw, best for detail work. Maximum cut depth is 4.5" and the throat is 9.5" wide

Horizontal Bandsaw #1

Horizontal Bandsaw #1

This is a powerful bandsaw specifically used for cutting metal or plastic rods, tubes, and pipes. It is designed to automatically shut off when the cut is completed, and it has a clamp to hold the stock while it's cutting. Be sure to place a waste container under the chute that directs chips away from the cutting area. Stock up to 5" wide can be cut. The blade in the machine is optimized for metal and plastic. Do not use it to cut wood.
