CNC Lathe Training 1:
*Careful with chamfer operations as the tool will cut in a diagonal past the limits that you identify.
*Parting tool is .161" wide and the zero of the tool is on the right side
*Always reference the Z axis first.
*If the axis doesn't move when you attempt to ref X or Z after a restart, go to the settings tab and make sure that the "Disable reference switches" box is unchecked.
*Make sure the chuck key is never left in the spindle because it will go flying through the protective acryllic.
*Once you have put your stock in the spindle, give it a spin to make sure you have properly secured your workpiece.
*Use 1 and 1/8" hex to loosen quick change tool post holder.


*Fit the chuck key into the chuck and rotate until the chuck is wide enough to accept your 1" piece of stock.
Feeds:
*Take the stop tool and ensure that you have a minimum of 3" of stock sticking out of the chuck.
*Tighten up the chuck with an extra tug, spin the chuck to make sure that the stock is properly secured.
*Take the chuck key and put it on the workbench (it's very dangerous to leave them unaccounted for)


*Remove whatever tool is in the quick change tool post holder and place it on the workbench

*Blow compressed air onto the empty holder to clear all chips and debris
*Load tool 1 (RH turning tool) into the tool holder and secure the tool
