Over the Mardi Gras break, we'll install a Tormach Slant-Pro CNC lathe to complement our Tormach CNC milling machine. And we'll be upgrading our bending brake to a 52" modelOne of the Ultimaker 2 3D printers will be upgraded to a 2+; if it works well, then the other two Ultimakers will get the upgrade as well.


We just installed a Buehler 12" surface grinder, great for smoothing the rough surfaces on 3D printed models.  We also just set up two Autodesk Ember SLA printers.  Over Winter break, a Jet horizontal band saw and a 36" Eastwood blast cabinet with glass bead media were installed.  The vertical mill was converted to a precision drill press.  In addition, we've added a Rockler horizontal clamping system to one of the benches near the CNC Mill.

A MakerSpace has been described as new amalgam of art, craft, and technology. Our goal is to serve all makers, and potential makers, in the Tulane Community[1]. We do so by providing tools, assistance, and ideas. Commercial use of the MakerSpace is not allowed. We provide 3D printer filament and laser plywood for academic and personal use projects. If in doubt, questions about interpretation should be directed to the Maker-In-Chief or a Director before a project is started.
